Happy Birthday to Me, Me, Me!

It's great to be EIGHT!!!!!!!!

However, that means I am officially an elder-bull, which just means I'm getting older.  If eight makes one an elder-bull, what does SIXTY-EIGHT make one?  Huh, mama, huh, huh?

I knew it was my birthday because I got a visit from Wendy...and I don't mean Auntie Wendy.
I enjoyed a nice plain hamburger on the deck!

My papa went to buy some wood for a new bed he's making me and mama dragged out her pit-chur-taking machine, which I hate.

First, she made me wear a stupid bandana.
And then added an even more stupid birthday hat.
I think it's quite obvious how I feel about the hat (it isn't even a new hat, it's left over from last year!)  Seriously?

Here's what I think of your stilly hat...
This is how I prefer to have my pit-chur taken with the hat...
I kind of figure...if I don't see it, it's not there...right?
Mother Nature sent me a little something to share this embarrassing moment
He totally jumped on my very private part but I didn't even notice I was so taken trying to avoid the hat!  My mama breathed a sigh of relief when she was able to shoo it on it's way before I freaked out.

I made my get away and made mama chase me and play tug with me in return for being good under the watchful eye of the pit-chur taker.

Does this bandana make me look fat?
Then, the best part of the day...I got to be NAKED!!!  I never get to be naked outside, unless it's my birthday.  WooHoo!!!  It makes me feel like rolling in the grass.
Not only did I get a hamburger, but I got two new collars that look like this...
and two new toys...a chicken from Tractor Supply (thanks Auntie Wendy for telling my people about this) and a new squeaky ally-gator.
The ally-gator has SIXTEEN squeakers!  That's two squeakers for every year I've been alive.

I played and played after dinner.
Then I had to rest, birthday's are exhausting.

Surgery for my Sheep

I take my job as Chief Squeeker Remover very seriously.  Unfortunately, it usually ends up causing a need for my mama to perform surgery.  Today was no different...
I mentioned that the stitches weren't very even and the color was off.  I was advised "it's not plastic surgery" and "I carry one spool of thread with me and it's black!"

Geez, she seems a little touchy.

Oh well, my sheep was happy to be all better.

Keep up the good work mama, I'll do my best to provide you with a steady clientele.

Half Birthday to Me...

That's right, TODAY is my real half birthday, even though apparently we did all of our celebrating yesterday.  Today I'm six and a half years old.  Having a birthday makes me smile...
"what big teeth you have!"
My papa says he has never seen me smile like this before.  That's because I never got a MONKEY for my birthday before!

I think we are gonna be good friends, at least until I kill him and pull out all his guts.  BWAHAHAHA

Happy Half Birthday To Me!!!

Wishing You a Very Merry Christmas

Some big fat guy called Santa stopped by and I got presents to open all by myself!  I think I'm liking this Merry Christmas holiday.

Actually, I enjoyed tearing apart the boxes
as much as I enjoyed tearing off the paper!
Then I enjoyed chewing my new toy, which isn't designed for chewing, it's designed for tugging, so we'll see how long it lasts.
I love my new Kong tails toy so I think I'll keep it close.
I hope the big fat guy stopped by your house and left you new toys, too.

My New Best Friend

Christmas brought me the best present ever...a new friend.  Well, technically, she isn't new, she's six years old already and we have met before.  The last time Ella came to visit, she was a lot smaller and I was a lot, well, rougher and crazier.  This time was different.  She is bigger and I was better behaved!  Win-Win

We were very respectful of one another.  I didn't jump on her and she didn't bother me when I was sleeping.  After my mama explained that I don't care much for hugs, she didn't even hug me any more.  That's my kind of friend!

She went for a walk with me and my papa and the best thing of all...she brought me presents.  Can you believe it?  Presents just for me.  First of all she gave me a huge rawhide candy cane, which my papa says I have to take to Floor-i-duh.  She also brought me an awesome tug toy!  It has a ball on a rope and I love it!

I love it more than I love most of the toys my mama buys for me.  I hope Ella doesn't find out but I love it so much, I already chewed the ball off the rope.  No worries, I still love it!

I'm looking forward to visiting with my new BFF when we come home in the spring.

The Green Monkey

I enjoyed our time together very much.  We played horsie together.
giddy up little doggie, giddy up
We snuggled together.

Then, I did what I do best.
It sure was fun while it lasted.  It might be time for my mama and papa to visit the pet shop again...hint, hint.

Stuffed or Stuffable, Doesn't Matter to Me

When we visited the Mom & Pop Pet Shop the other day, my papa told "Pop" that I totally destroyed the nice stuffed fishie toy that we brought home the other day.

Last year when I got one of these fishies, it lasted a really long time but not this year.  I gutted it in about 10 minutes.

"Pop" said he hated to see a dog without a toy (like that would ever happen) and he suggested this one.  My papa, being the soft touch he is, agreed to purchase one for me.
He carries this brand (West Paw Design) because it's MADE IN THE USA, no Chinese ingredients!  This one is called the ZOGOflex Tux and as you can see for yourself, it's stuffable.  Those are my other favorite kind of toys.  If I can't gut them, they need to be stuffed with something good to eat.

Not only is it stuffable, it's recyclable and guaranteed "against dog damage with a one-time free replacement or refund."  Now, that's a good deal.

Here it is stuffed with one of my favorites...PEANUT BUTTER!!!
My only complaint is that it doesn't hold very much and I can finish it really fast, even when it's frozen.  My mama has been x-peer-i-men-ting with plain yogurt, which I also really like because it tastes like ice cream, or so I'm told.  I told her I would be happy to try it stuffed with just about anything a dog can safely eat, maybe a banana or one of her tasty, homemade chicken jerky pieces.
