Cheese, it's Not

My mama usually fills my red bone with string cheese.  No matter how tightly she stuffs it in there, I get it out in about 5 minutes.  That sort of defeats her purpose, since she wants it to take me a looooong time and make me tired.

She surprised me today with my red bone but it wasn't full of cheese.  Today it was cold and hard and really yummy.  Today she stuffed it with a mixture of unsweetened applesauce and Greek yo-gurt and it was FROZEN!  Not Frozen, like the movie but frozen, like from the freezer!  I worked on it for a loooooong time, just like my mama wanted and then I was so tired, I took a nap.

Good-bye Floor-i-duh

Yes, it's been a good winter but I'm ready to go home to May-nuh, where I can do zoomies in my big fenced yard and bring muddy feet into the house without having them wiped off every.single.time!

Yes, I will miss my deck and my dock,

long walks with my mama and my papa every day,

and my frozen treats.

But, I'm ready and I've been preparing for the trip home by catching a few winks in the back of the car, because that's what I do for three.long.days...sleep.
See you in May-nuh, don't put away your warm clothes!

It's All Good

I don't care if my sweet frozen treats are in a Kong

or in an old marrow bone

it's always cold and it's always very tasty.  However, when we are in Floor-i-duh, I must eat it outside on the deck in order to protect the car-pet.  I don't totally understand this because it's car-PET after all.

Too-nuh Brownies

My mama made me a special treat today...too-nuh brownies.  I didn't even know I liked too-nuh until I got to taste them.  Now I know I LOVE too-nuh.

First, she mixed the in-greed-e-ntz together, which made a big sticky mess.
Then she spread the sticky mess into a jelly roll pan until it was 1/4 inch thick.  She's so anal I figured she would tear the house apart until she found a ruler so she could be sure, be she actually just i-bald it.  I was kind of proud of her.  That went into the oven at 250* for about 30 minutes.
It doesn't look like much but it smells wonderful!

After it cooled a little, she cut it up into a gazillion small square treats, just for me.  I even got to taste test them, just because of my handsomeness, not because I did anything special.
They are marvelous.  My mama says I don't get to have too many, too fast because I have a sens-a-tiv stomach and sometimes new things give me die-uh-re-uh and that makes all of us unhappy.  I think she will take some on our walk tomorrow...yay.

In the event you want to try some too-nuh brownies, here is the recipe my mama used.

Preheat oven to 250F
Drain 2 regular (5 or 6 oz) or one large can of tuna and pour into mixing bowl.
Mix in 2 eggs-include the crushed shells if you want more calcim.
Mix in 1 1/2 cup flour (can use white, whole wheat, oat or rice flour)
**Add 1 T garlic powder or crushed garlic.
Blend well, form into doughy ball. Spread about 1/4 inch thick on big greased cookie sheet.
Bake about 25- 30 minutes or until golden. Cut into tiny squares before they get too cool. You can also sprinke extra garlic on top before putting them in the oven.
Store in airtight container or freeze.

**My mama didn't use any garlic, because of  my stomach thingy.

You can find this recipe and others here.

Mr. Chewy

My mama reads a lot of blogs and that turned out to be a good thing.  She won a giveaway from Jess at the Pittieful Love blog.  Want to know what she won?  Well, it was a $50 certificate to none other than

That's right, $50 to an online pet food (and treat) retailer.  The box came TODAY!!!
I KNEW it was for me!  I could SMELL it was for me so I agreed to help get it open.
Something in here smells GOOOOOOD

Real GOOOOOOOD
Aaaah, at last.
My mama ordered lots of treats.  Oh yeah baby.....

Look at all this stuff
PureBites, Zukes and Knuckle bones
What the heck is a knuckle bone anyway?
I tried to help my papa unwrap the KB but he said "I don't need your help, thank you very much".  Then he put it way up high on the counter ;o(  So, I did what I do...I waited
See how patient I am?
"What is taking you soooo long????"

"So, this is a knuckle bone."
My mama was very happy with Mr. Chewy.  She said the web-sight was easy to use and they had lots of different kinds of food and treats.  It's not just for dogs either, they have stuff for lazy, bossy fur-balls cats and other animals, too.  They sent our order really fast and she said their prices were reson-uh-bull.  She promises that once my treats are gone, she'll order me more from Mr. Chewy.

If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go work on my new knuckle bone.

Ru-mer has it, there's another one of these in the freezer for the ride home to May-nuh.  Yum!

I Love Toys

My mama says I'm worse than a child when it comes to toys.  I like to leave mine all over the house in case I feel like playing when I'm moving from one room to the other.  She says it would help if I could learn to put them away but I don't see that happening, do you.

She and my papa went to the Gallery Walk the other night and all I got was a dumb toy was this incredible new stuffie.  It only cost $3!  They said that's a real bargain, since I usually kill them in a matter of minutes anyway.
It's a fish!  A purple, tropical fish!  And it came with an all natural treat!
The stuffie is really soft and fluffy and feels kind of funny in my mouth and I like it.

I have been playing with my new stuffie for three days now and I haven't killed it and pulled out all the "guts" yet but it's probably just a matter of time.

However, the "all natural treat"...ugh.  I mean really, why would anyone think a dog wants to eat "all natural" anyway.  It tasted like cardboard and I refused to eat all of it.  My mama says I'm spoiled, whatever that means.

Pleeeeeez Play With Me

It was a perfect day outside and I just wanted to play.  This is my fav-o-rite toy, which my papa found at Tractor Supply. (I don't think it looks like a tractor, but I'm not sure what a tractor is.)  I invite my mama to play by hovering over my toy, daring her to pick it up.
Sometimes I have to resort to rubbing my dirty, slobbery toy over her pants to get her attention.
Can you see me NOW?
She likes to make me sit, then throw my toy far, far away and let me chase it.  I like to keep my toy and have her chase ME to get it back.  That's when she resorts to TREATS!
Ham and cheese

Sometimes she resorts to a less than yummy tactic.

No, you are not seeing things.  She is STANDING on my toy!  I have no choice but to wait nicely until she throws it again.

Well, pick it up and throw it already.  I can't wait all day.
See how nicely I'm waiting?

Finally, I get too tired to run any more so I just roll around in the leaves and play with my toy, all by myself.

Aaaahhhh, life is good.
