From the woman that was caring for her in Puerto Rico, it was learned that her mother was found as a pregnant stray and Pebbles was born with janky back legs...they don't bend ;o( Don't feel too bad for her, she can scoot around faster than you can imagine and she doesn't know her legs don't work quite right.
She came from PR all by herself, okay...technically, she couldn't really come ALL ALONE, but she was the only puppy on a rescue flight and the owner of the rescue brought her all the way to Maine. I'm sorry my mama can't remember the name of the people that fly doggies, like Pebbles, to the US, but they are special people!
When doggies come to Maine from out of state, there is a five day kwor-an-teen period before they can be available for uh-dop-shun. The Animal Welfare Society in W. Kennebunk, Maine asked if she could stay at our house for her kwor-an-teen period and we said...of course she can!"
I liked her but my mama and papa were afraid I might accidentally hurt her by playing too rough, so they kept us apart. Plus, she barked at me and that hurt my feelings ;o(
She got to go outside without her cart on the nice days when everyone was outside to keep an eye on her. We used an x-pen set up on the soft grass and covered it with a sheet so she could scoot around without getting all dirty. She had a sore on her foot when she arrived at the AWS and it was all wrapped up in a bright pink bandage, so having a bath was not an option. Lucky girl...I hate having a bath!
She worked hard when she walked in her cart, especially on the uneven grass, but she zoomed along on the driveway.
How can you not love that face? |
She liked to chase the ball. |
You can kind of see her pink bandage... |
My mama took a video but she can't figure out how to get it onto the blog. She is such a doof when it comes to technology!
She was pretty easy to have around and we were sad to see her go...we're always sad to see our foster puppies go, but not sad enough to keep any ;o) (my papa would but my mama says NO!)
Have a sweet life Pebbles, you are a very special, special needs girl.
Until next time...Sir Titan of Nottingham CGC TT
