Pebbles, the Second Time Around

Remember Pebbles, our special, special needs girl from Puerto Rico?
Well...she's back!  Unfortunately, she was knawing on her janky legs and had done a pretty good job of chewing them up.  It was decided it would be in her best interest to amputate her back legs just above the knees.  She came to us to heal from her sir-jury.
Coming "home" again
She had lots of stitches on her nubs and no one wanted her getting to them, so she was stuck in the cone of shame.

Not to worry, my mama and papa are very good at fostering and they made sure she got lots of time out of the cone.  She got lots of time outside in her special pen, with and without the cone.
Such a happy girl
She's still not very big but it was surprising how much she had grown when we tried to put her into her old wheels!  Sadly, although we had new wheels and a harness, they didn't go together so she didn't get as much exercise as she should have.  But she still got lots of fresh air.
You can kind of get a look at her stub.  They will look lots better once they are all healed and her hair grows back.

She stayed for almost two weeks but had to go back to the AWS because my people were going to "fun at camp".

My mama would spend time with her in the evening before settling her into bed.  She loved chasing the ball and chewing on toys and she didn't let her dis-uh-bill-it-ee slow her down...she was extremely fast.
Is this not the cutest face...eva!?

My mama actually shed a tear when it was time to say good-bye.  She was super cute and very sweet and we wish her a super, special life.
Until next time...
