I am Art

My mama entered some pit-churs of me in a Facebook contest by a digital artist named Dawn Allen.  Her "digital art looks like fabric collage- but it isn't."   You must check out her website!  She does a lot of work with vintage cars but was looking for animal subjects and asked people to submit photos.

My mama sent a couple of pit-churs, then she found one that my Auntie Jocelyn took of me when I lived with her as a foster dog.  (She's still my first love but don't tell my mama.)
Look how young I am (that's what my mama always says when she sees pit-churs of herself)  haha

My mama was super excited when she got an email from Miss Dawn saying this one made us winners!  She had never done a tongue and wanted to give it a try.  I must admit...I have one awesome tongue!

It didn't take her very long to send us a digital copy of her design, with a link to order a copy if we wanted.  Of course, we wanted.
Seriously, does it not look exactly like me?  My mama is in love with it and can't wait to have it framed and hanging up.

I will hang on the wall and forever watch over my mama and papa!!!

Salt and Pepper

These two little ones came to stay with us for a few days without names, so we called them
Salt and Pepper.  They were pretty sickly with upper respiratory infections and very skinny.  There were six in the litter and my papa said the other four were twice their size.
Mama and papa gave them medicines twice a day and fed them four times a day to fatten them up.  I don't think they weighed more than five pounds.  I heard they were very easy to care for but I didn't spend much time around them...the "littles" make me nervous.

They came on Wednesday and are going back to the AWS tomorrow.  They are going to the Paws 'n' Stripes program at the prison, where they will get one-on-one attention and obedience training, teaching them to be the best puppies ever!  After their six week en-car-sir-a-shun, they will be available for uh-dop-shun.
She has ears like the Flying Nun
Pepper found the only sunny spot!
They didn't slow down very often and mama had trouble getting their pictures.

Happy Birthday to Me, Me, Me!

It's great to be EIGHT!!!!!!!!

However, that means I am officially an elder-bull, which just means I'm getting older.  If eight makes one an elder-bull, what does SIXTY-EIGHT make one?  Huh, mama, huh, huh?

I knew it was my birthday because I got a visit from Wendy...and I don't mean Auntie Wendy.
I enjoyed a nice plain hamburger on the deck!

My papa went to buy some wood for a new bed he's making me and mama dragged out her pit-chur-taking machine, which I hate.

First, she made me wear a stupid bandana.
And then added an even more stupid birthday hat.
I think it's quite obvious how I feel about the hat (it isn't even a new hat, it's left over from last year!)  Seriously?

Here's what I think of your stilly hat...
This is how I prefer to have my pit-chur taken with the hat...
I kind of figure...if I don't see it, it's not there...right?
Mother Nature sent me a little something to share this embarrassing moment
He totally jumped on my very private part but I didn't even notice I was so taken trying to avoid the hat!  My mama breathed a sigh of relief when she was able to shoo it on it's way before I freaked out.

I made my get away and made mama chase me and play tug with me in return for being good under the watchful eye of the pit-chur taker.

Does this bandana make me look fat?
Then, the best part of the day...I got to be NAKED!!!  I never get to be naked outside, unless it's my birthday.  WooHoo!!!  It makes me feel like rolling in the grass.
Not only did I get a hamburger, but I got two new collars that look like this...
and two new toys...a chicken from Tractor Supply (thanks Auntie Wendy for telling my people about this) and a new squeaky ally-gator.
The ally-gator has SIXTEEN squeakers!  That's two squeakers for every year I've been alive.

I played and played after dinner.
Then I had to rest, birthday's are exhausting.

Sir-juries

I went to the Dr. vet today to have my teeth cleaned and have some sir-juries on my mouth and get some bumps checked.  I'm not a big fan of the Dr. vet and voiced my feelings loudly upon arrival.

All good news!  My teeth are super shiny and clean.  The stuff in my mouth was just lots of extra gum tissue that grows over my teeth and bleeds when I chew on doggie toys.  The Dr. vet removed the extra tissue and cot-er-eyesd everything to prevent bleeding while it heals.

The lumps were ass-purr-a-ted and there were no abnormal cells, which means there's no cancer in my lumps.

I got lots of good pain medications!

The ride home was kind of weird and I didn't feel good about lying down, so I stood up most of the way, swaying like a drunken say-lor.  I can't say as I actually remember the incident, but it appears I left a big poop in the back of my papa's car.
I crashed on my bed when we got home and didn't move for a couple of hours.
My mama got me up and tricked me with turkey and peanut butter to eat some dinner so I could have more of the mind numbing pain medications.  Good job, mama!
Here's hoping I can sleep comfortably through the night.

Dillie and Dovey...Southern girls visit Nottingham Fosters

These two lovelies came to us from somewhere in the south.  They are schnauzer mixes and they are super cute and sweet.  I'm a little envious of their cute whiskers.  They arrived here on June 3rd and will be with us for a couple of weeks before going to a very special uh-dop-shun event on the 17th.
Dillie
Dovey
They should be super easy to house train because after they eat, mama and papa take them outside and they pee and poop within minutes and there is very little mess in their kennel.

My mama and papa are in love with them.  Dovey loves to chase the ball and she already knows to bring it back.  They think she would make a great Flyball participant.

They also really like my Kong toy...MY Kong toy.  Good grief, I cannot leave them unsupervised for even a minute.
These puppies are among my mama and papa's top five favorite foster puppies and they are really going to miss them when they leave.  As for me...I will have MY toy back, full of puppy slobber.

While I was having sir-juries, they got to go on a field trip to Wendy's!  It's not fair...I like Wendy's, too and I didn't get to go.  Booooooo

The Irish Puppies

Jameson, Paddy, Patrick and Penny came up from the south to stay with us for a few days, before they get homes of their own. They were part of a litter of eight but my mama (being the smart one) said four of them could come to our house.  There are two boys and two girls.
They were supposed to weigh five pounds but they seem a lot bigger than that, although no one has bothered to weigh them.  My people are slacking.

They got to spend lots of time outside, chasing each other around the pen, eating sticks and leaves, getting bitten by those darn black flies and barking at me for no reason.  My mama says they just want to play but I don't have much interest in playing.

Everything was going well until my mama and papa went to the gym and out to dinner but someone forgot to lock the gate on the puppies pen in the cellar.  If my mama had her phone and didn't get so mad when she opened the door and found them running around the cellar, she would have taken a picture.  What a mess!!!  Poop and pee, brooms laying everywhere, an open bag of dog food (explains why they weren't very hungry), a spilled container of laundry detergent and so on.  They were bad puppies but I bet they had a really good time making such a mess.

Anyway...they arrived here on Tuesday and my mama is taking them back to the shelter on Saturday so they can get uh-dop-ted.  They will make some families very happy.

Good luck Irish puppies.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I'm told that as a red nose pitbull, my kind originally came from Ireland.  Go figure...I'm Irish!  Let's celebrate!!!

I'm not all that good at co-op-er-a-ting when it's pitch-ur taking time, so this is the only one this year.  My mama says "it's the only one...so far".  I'm thinking that is not good news...

Riding in the Middle

I have a new "cousin".  Her name is Jane and she lives with my Auntie Wendy and Uncle Dan.  I hear when she rides in the car, she gets to sit in the middle.  Well, if it's good enough for Jane...
I'm a perfect fit!
Thanks Jane!

My Safe Space

Seems everyone needs a safe space now-a-days so their feelings don't get hurt.  Well, I also have a safe space.
Do not bother me when I'm in my safe space, unless you have treats, then you can bother me.
