Spending the Night in a New Home

The puppies were packed up and taken to the PetSmart Adoption Event this morning and they were all adopted.  That means they are all sleeping with their new families tonight.

A Litter of Five

My mama says "it sounded good at the time".  We have five new foster babies here at Nottingham Fosters.  They came all the way from North Carolina, which is really in the south.  I'm not good at directions, but that sounds crazy.

Anyway, they arrived here bright and early this morning and they were very stinky.  I smelled a couple of them and it wrinkled my nose, so I passed on the others.  Not their fault, they rode all the way here without any stops, so they kind of had to go in their crate.  Whew-Eeee!

There are two girls, Ashley and Sarah and three boys, Frank, Steve and Jesse James.  They might be some kind of hound mix.  It was so nice here today, they got to spend the whole day in their outside pen while my mama and papa worked on firewood.  I wasn't that interested, so I wandered around the yard and took naps on my pillow.

They played and barked and ate rocks and sticks, then they wore themselves out and took a nap, too.
Apparently Ashley is a loner
Four stinky puppies
Maybe she got chilly because she decided to join the warm puppy pile.
Five stinky puppies
Mama says they are getting a bath before they come in the house.  haha, they're getting a bath...I don't get baths, I don't like them.  "huh? what?"  I might have heard something about a bath in my future, someone says I stink, too.  Whatever...

They Say it's Your Birthday!

It's my birthday too, yeah!  Gotta love those Beatles.  Today I'm SEVEN!  That's this many...
Birthday's are always a special day around here, as they should be.  Unfortunately, my mama had a bunch of uh-point-mints today so I didn't get my Wendy's treat till late in the day.  Luckily for me, birthdays last ALLLLLL day and half the night!

I got a new squeaky ball because my mama didn't remember that I already have three squeaky balls hidden away in the basket in her sewing room.  duh!  On top of that, I got a new pull toy made from old fire hose, which is quite uh-pro-pre-ut since my people used to be firefighters in their other lives.
Then there was the photo shoot...the dreaded photo shoot.  I did get a new Happy Birthday banner and a big, new hat.  It's about time, that other silly one was really lame.
My pouty face
My best birthday smile
My stoic face...do what you must
I think I've had enough
I got the usual birthday burger when my mama and papa came home from the gym!  I love birthdays, I wish it was my birthday every day.

Beethoven

No, not the composer...the foster dog!
My mama and papa brought him home to spend ten days with us.  Surprisingly, I like playing with him, although he's kind of mouthy and he has shark teeth...they are small baby teeth but they are razor sharp!

That's one of the things he will be working on while he stays with us, along with pottying outside and sitting nicely before treats.

Oh yeah, he likes to bark, too but we just ignore him when he does; however, he gets a tasty treat when he's quiet.

My mama says...he's not a pit bull but he is still cute!

It didn't take him very long to learn that my mama has treats in that fancy bag on her belt.
Hey lady...I smell treats!
Today was FINALLY nice enough to be outside all afternoon!  I got to have the back yard all to myself while the little land shark helped with the gardening in the front yard. It turns out he helps best from inside a nice, roomy crate.
I don't think he was all that impressed being crated.
boring...
He has several chew toys in there to keep him busy but he would rather sit there and gather sympathy.  Such a sad sack!

Not a Great News Kind of Day

Last month my mama noticed a "not quite right" area behind my upper front teeth while we were playing on the floor.  It's one of those things that mamas and papas want to have checked out...just.in.case.

Today I went to visit the Dr. Vet lady.  I'm not the kind of guy that likes having people messing around with my mouth, so I wasn't very coo-op-er-uh-tiv (which my mama told them and they chose to disregard).  Therefore, the Dr. Vet lady didn't get a very good look at it but she feels it's a tumor that will have to be removed.

Dogs like me tend to have a lot of extra gum tissue that sometimes grows over their teeth and my mama and papa were hoping that was the problem.  I guess not.

Sooo, in a couple of weeks, I'm going back to the Dr. Vet lady.  It's one of those places where you go in feeling very spunky but you come out feeling very punky.  She is going to give me medicines to make me sleep so she can take pictures of my mouth and something called a bi-op-see.  If this tumor thingy isn't any big deal, she will take it away but I will probably lose some of my pearly whites, too.
If she feels it's something more complicated, I'll wake up with all my teeths but I'll have to visit a specialist.

Sooooo, give me some thoughts if you will and send positive energies my way.  I have a lot of Floor-i-duh sunshines I still need to soak up.

KaBOOOOOOOOM!

Yikes, we are having a seriously nasty storm outside, which makes my insides feel nasty, too.  I used to sleep right through thunder and boomers but as I get older, I get more nervous and anxious when the air is filled with lightenings and thunders.  Today was awful!
My mama brought my mat into the kitchen so I could be close to them while they ate lunch, but I couldn't relax.  I panted and paced and my whole body shook!  It's a terrible feeling.

Then, the loudest most scariest boomer I ever heard shook the whole house, even my mama and papa jumped.  They said a bolt of lightening struck right outside the kitchen window!  As it turns out, it "knocked out" the satellite TV, the internets and a couple of other things.  I would have liked to "knock out" that lightening!!!

I was so happy when it was over, I slept the rest of the afternoon and if I never hear another thunder boomer, I'll live happily ever after.

Is amiss really a word?  Doesn't seem quite right but then again, neither does my head...

It's St. Patrick's Day

Hope everyone had a chance to celebrate today.  From what I hear, my mama and papa did.  They say everyone is Irish today.   Soooooo, kiss me, I'm Irish today, too.

Unfortunately, my mama uses these silly occasions to put me in silly outfits and take pictures.  St. Patrick's Day is no exception...
I actually think my mama is getting kind of good at taking my pictures.  I'm a little nervous that Easter is right around the corner.  I'm wondering what she has in store...

Wishing each of you a fantastical St. Patrick's Day, or St. Paw-trick's Day in dog speak.

Half Birthday to Me...

That's right, TODAY is my real half birthday, even though apparently we did all of our celebrating yesterday.  Today I'm six and a half years old.  Having a birthday makes me smile...
"what big teeth you have!"
My papa says he has never seen me smile like this before.  That's because I never got a MONKEY for my birthday before!

I think we are gonna be good friends, at least until I kill him and pull out all his guts.  BWAHAHAHA

Happy Half Birthday To Me!!!

Happy Leap Day

To be honest, I don't even know what Leap Day is but my mama says it's a bonus day in Floor-i-duh cause not every Feb-u-air-eee has this extra day.  Whatever...

Even though tomorrow is my half birthday, my papa wanted to celebrate today and who am I to argue.  Just as long as we celebrate tomorrow, too!  (That might be pushing my luck but I won't know till tomorrow.)

You are probably asking yourself what can possibly be holding my attention
gimme, gimme, gimme...pleeeeeeze
It's not the usual Wendy's, it's even better!
ARBY'S?  You got me ARBY'S?
I've never had Arby's before, this mush be a very special day, indeed.

I'm a very polite eater.  I don't gobble down the whole thing, I eat it nice and slow so I can savor it.  I have no idea when Leap Day will come again.  First, I take a good sniff (never eat something you don't smell first!)
Then, I work my way to the good stuff in the middle.
I pretty much ate the entire insides in one big bite.
On to the bread, bottom first.
Finally, the top with all those cute little seeds, hope they don't get stuck in my teeth.
And then it was gone, just like that ;o(  Did you notice that I ate the entire thing off the good smelling paper placemat so I didn't get any on the deck?
Is there another one by any chance?
Apparently not.
